Singer Tran Thi Trang, also known by her stage name Tran Trang Sao Mai, was born in 1986 and graduated with a master’s degree in Vocal Performance at Vietnam National Academy of Music.
In addition to performing, she was a lecturer in the Department of Vocal at the National University of Arts Education from 2014 to 2015 and later the Military University of Arts and Culture. From 2015 until now, she has worked at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.
In her career, she has achieved many achievements local and abroad. In 2013, she won the Third Prize of the Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest with the genre of Chamber music. In 2016, she successfully won the Silver Medal at the Pyongyang Spring Art Festival and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
She has starred in operas such as Micaela in “Carmen”, madam Ba in “Miss Sao” by Do Nhuan, Ms. Dao- youth volunteers in Do Hong Quan’s “Red Leaves”. She is a soloist in the Symphony Programs of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet; invited singer with Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, Vietnam National Academy of Music with classical works from the world and Vietnam.
Not only succeeding as an opera singer, she is also a member of the Jury at the Sao Mai National Television Singing Contest 2017, Sao Mai Television Contest Nghe An 2015; Contest for the singing of journalists in Uncle Ho hometown 2015, Contest of the Voice of Nghe in 2017.
Tran Trang has been regularly appointed by VNOB and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to attend music festivals abroad such as: Pyongyang Spring Festival; Asian Music Festival in China 2017; Vietnam Cultural Week in Cambodia in 2018. In addition, she also participated in various programs, national ceremony event and performed serving people in remote areas of the country.
