The concert “Autumn Melody 2018” by the Choir and Orchestra of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB) already ended, but its beautiful melodies remain in the hearts of classical music enthusiasts. Hanoi Grapevine invites you to take a look back at some of the most brilliant moments from the show that marked the beginning of a romantic and serene Hanoian autumn.
The concert opened with the Overture of La Forza del Destino by Giuseppe Verdi
Excerpt from Piano Concerto in A minor, Op 16 – Allegro moderato molto e marcato (conductor: Le Phi Phi, piano soloist: Ji Sung Lee) by Grieg:
This concert marked the fist collaboration between conductor Le Phi Phi and Korean pianist Ji Sung Lee.
Excerpt from Ji Sung Lee’s performance of F.Chopin’s Andante Spianato And Grand Polonaise Brillante Op.22:
Ji Sung Lee has been playing piano since he was 16. He considers his style to have “a very distinct color”. Ji Sung Lee’s powerful piano solo performance of Nocturne no. 2, op. 9 could make the piece seem very different for those who are used to the soft, gentle version by Chopin.
Excerpt from Requiem-Lacrimosa by G. Verdi (Meritorious Artist Vanh Khuyen, Phuong Thao, Manh Dung, Dinh Chuc):
