Nguyen Cong Hoan

Painter and stage designer Nguyen Cong Hoan was born in 1972. He graduated from the Hanoi Academy of Theater and Cinema, majoring in Art of Stage Designing in 1997. From 1998 up to now, he has been working at VNOB.

Took part in Professional Stage Designing Process from 1992, he has many chances to cooperate with almost of famous Stage Painters in Art of Stage Field in Vietnam: People’s Artist – Teacher Bui Huy Hieu, Emeritus Artist Tran Mau, Dan Quoc, People’s Artist Xuan Tung, Emeritus Artist Dinh Quy Them, People’s Artist Nguyen Hong, Emeritus Artist Hoang Song Hao… with the main duties of the Scene and Font Painter. He completed over 200 plays in all kinds for Professional Art Performing Groups and Professional Stage Performing Festivals. I did perform in directly designing the Stages for: Opera Lucile play of Grétry (1996); La Vie Parisienne play of Offenbach (1997); Painting Assistant and Designing Stage for  ballet piece Through the eyes of the Phoenix – Choreographer Sheron Stock, Painting Designer Micheal Pearce (1997); Painting Assistant and co-perform designing the stage for Roméo and Juliette play of author Philippe Cohen (1998), Monsoon dance authored by Philippe Cohen; 110 years of Uncle Ho’s day Program at Vinh (Nghe An) in 2000; Opera Mr. Y Đăm (2003), The soul of Trương Chi (3/2003) authored by Công Nhạc; Clown for British Council; La Sylphide choreographed by Jean Paul Comelin (France); Sacred Spring choreographed by Pham Minh, Western Story, Music Leonard Bernsteins and choreographed by Lisa Travis (1/2007); Ballet Giselle…

Emeritus Artist Nguyễn Thị Thúy Hằng

Emeritus Artist Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang was born in 1982. She is a soloist and passionate choreographer. After graduating for 7 years at the Vietnam Academy of Dance in 2001, Thuy Hang became a dance soloist at VNOB. In 2017, she graduated from the Hanoi Academy of Theater and Cinema, majoring in choreography.

Not only participating in the programs of VNOB, Thuy Hang also collaborates with the dance troupes in Sweden and Germany. She has toured in Italy, Spain, Sweden, Germany, Africa, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, Korea, India, Mongolia …

In 2013, she entered the TOP 6 of the show “So you think you can dance” season 1 in Vietnam. In these programs of 4 consecutive seasons, Thuy Hang became choreographer. Besides, Thuy Hang worked as a jury member of the dance program “Colors of childhood” and staged many programs and repertoire for major art shows and Vietnam Television.

In 2019, she was awarded the title of Emeritus Artist.

Up to now, dancer Thuy Hang has had experience in teaching contemporary dance for over 10 years and many students have won high prizes in domestic and international contemporary dance competitions. Her students won the first and third prizes of the first Hanoi City Young Talent Dance Contest; 3rd Prize of the Grand Prix International Dance Competition in Taiwan 2018; First and runner up prizes of the International Star of Canaan Dance Competition in Malaysia 2018.

Nguyễn Xuân Sơn

Artist Nguyen Xuan Son (stage name SonX) graduated in music (1986-1990) and painting (2002-2007) at Hanoi Academy of Theater and Cinema. Before working in the VNOB (2018), he worked at Vietnam Cheo Theater Vietnam (1992-2007), Vietnam Tuong Theater (2007-2012) and Hanoi Cheo Theater (2012-2017).

He has composed music for many famous works of Vietnam such as Song of prayer (2000), Drought and Rain Vol.1 (2011), Drought and Rain Vol.2 (2005), Flying Line (2008), White Body (2009) choreographed by Director Ea Sola; Life in the box (2007) choreographed by Tran Ly Ly; The soundtrack of How long the raindrops (2003), directed by Doan Minh Phuong.

Works presented at museums and theaters around the world include: Exercises for Percussion No. 1 (1998), Vong Co (2001), Exit (2001), Hell (2002), Truong Chi (2003), A Face No. 2 (2004), Red Exercise (2004), A Face No. 4 (2009), Black Circle (2011), Fall in asleep (2013), Peace (2014), Da Chong Legendary (2014), Loose Border (2014), Broken Tale (2015), Old and Present Vietnamese Sound Culture (2015), Sigh (2016), Two missed Moons (2018)

Nguyễn Minh Trang

Choreographer Nguyen Minh Trang was born in 1978. She graduated at the Vietnam Academy of Dance in 1998, majoring in Ballet, then Military Academy of Art and Culture, majoring in training dance. She had been working at Dance Group, VNOB since 2003. In 2018, she moved to the Art Department.

When she was a dancer, she performed in many Ballet plays such as Spartacus, Swan Lake, Nut Cracker, La Sylphide, Chopiniana, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Monsoon, Fire Bird, Western Story, Ancient Love Story, Moment of Immortality … She also performed some contemporary dances such as Minus sign, Moment …

Currently, she is the choreographer. In 2019, she worked as assistant director of the famous Ballet Swan Lake …

Đồng Quang Vinh

Conductor Dong Quang Vinh was born in 1984. He is an experienced young conductor with years of conducting top orchestras in China and Vietnam. Born to a family of traditional music, he is also a soloist on different types of traditional music instruments and invited to give performances on various international stages since age 12. In 2004 he was sent by the Vietnam government to study orchestral conducting at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and was awarded the most distinguished student scholarship by the China National Foundation. He obtained the master degree in 2013 with highest scores and returned to Vietnam to serve the home country. In China, Dong Quang Vinh has been guest conductor of Shanghai Opera House Symphony Orchestra; Shanghai City Symphony Orchestra; Shanghai Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra; Shanghai Conservatory of Music Traditional Orchestra; Shanghai Chinese Traditional Orchestra; Shanghai University Chinese Traditional Orchestra; Zhe Jiang Theatre Chinese Traditional Orchestra; Hong Kong Chinese Traditional Orchestra etc. He’s conducted numerous Shanghai youth orchestras attending Chinese National competitions for student orchestras and had won a number of 1st prizes. In Vietnam, he is the Conductor and teacher of orchestral conducting of the Vietnam National Academy of Music (VNAM); Artistic director and conductor of Hanoi Voices Choir (HVC); Director and soloist of the Suc Song Moi Bamboo Ensemble (SSM) and Japanese Bamboo Ensemble Waraku; Guest conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).

In May 2017, Dong Quang Vinh and his two bamboo ensembles were invited to talk and perform on the TEDxBadinh talk. In January 2018, he was selected by the US government as the only representative from the ASEAN among 18 countries from all around the world to attend the project “promote social change through the arts” – “International Visitor Leadership program” (IVLP) in a 3-week tour in 5 cities and states of the United States of America

People’s Artist Nguyễn Hồng Phong

People’s Artist Nguyen Hong Phong, born in 1974, graduated from Military Art and Culture College and Hong Kong Dance Academy. From 1998 to 2000, he attended a choreography training course at Coline Dance Company (France).

In 1996, he started working at VNOB, as a dancer, then deputy head and head of Dance Group. In 2018, he moved to the art Department as a choreographer.

During working time, he has won many prestigious awards such as the Gold Medal for Art Festival in 5 countries: Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand (2016), A Prize at award ceremony for literature, arts and press works on studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and style (2015), Gold Medal at the Military Professional Art Performance Festival …

Emeritus Artist Trần Thị Tuyết Dung

Emeritus Artist Tran Thi Tuyet Dung was born in 1971. She graduated as ballerina at the Leningrad Dance Academy (former Soviet Union). After finishing, she worked at Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater (former Soviet Union) from 1990 to 1992. She has been working at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet since 1993 as ballerina, Deputy Head and Head of Dance Group until 2011. She was appointed as Head of Art Department from 2013.

As a dancer, Tuyet Dung has succeeded in many works, as soloists, particularly Spartacus, Swan Lake, Nut Cracker, La Sylphide, Chopiniana, Romeo and Juliet, Giselle, Monsoon, Fire Bird, Western Story, Ancient Love, Ancient Moments Death … Besides, she also participated in contemporary dances such as You -Vietnamese woman, Venus in Hanoi, Eyes, Body Armor, The Forgotten, Silk Heart …

She has won many awards in her artistic career, such as the Third Prize (no first prize) in “Flower of the Mother” – with the role of the Mother in 2003; Prize A “Moment of Immortality” in 2014.

In 2015, she was awarded the title of Emeritus Artist.
