has Dancer Nguyen Thuy Hoan was born in 1988. She graduated from the Vietnam Academy of Dance. During her career at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, she has participated in many ballet and contemporary dances pieces such as Giselle, Nut cracker, Ancient Love, Moments … Apart from being a dancer, she also work as a freelance model.

Nguyễn Thảo My

Dancer Nguyen Thao My was born in 1998, graduated from Military University of Culture and Arts in 2018.
In 2017, she participated in “Memory of the river Lam” and excelled in the Golden Prize of the international dance festival in 2017. During her working time at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, she participated in many ballet and contemporary dances works, including “Nut cracker”, “Bolero & Suite en Blanc”, “Swan Lake” and Opera such as “Maria de Buenos Aires”, “The sculptor”, “Red leaf”…

Đinh Thị Trà My

Artist Dinh Thi Tra My, born in 1988, graduated from the Vietnam Academy of Dance. Since 2007, she became a ballet dancer at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.
She has been a soloist for major works such as: Giselle, Geometric bird, Secret Garden. In addition, she has successfully won the Golden prize at International Dance Award 2017 with the work “Rite of Spring”

Phạm Thu Hằng

Dancer Pham Thu Hang was born in 1991, soon became interested in dance from the age of 7 and studied dance at regular art training systems such as Hanoi Children’s Palace, Hanoi College of Arts .
In 2004, Thu Hang enrolled at the Vietnam Academy of Dance. In 2011, she graduated with an excellent 7-year training program in classical European dance. After graduating, she worked at the Vietnam National Dance and Music Theater, throughout the process of working there, she always held the position of a soloist and achieved bright points in her profession. In 2014, Thu Hang won the gold medal for the “Drought” dance at the 4th Indochina Arts Festival and the gold medal for “Spring on H’Mong Village” at the International Dance Festival. In 2016, Thu Hang decided to challenge herself with the art of academic dance and become a dancer of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet. Hang is always entrusted by VNOB to play the leading role in most ballet, contemporary dance and other programs …
She is a soloist of many famous ballets such as: Swan lake, Ancient love story, Nut cracker, Suite en Blanc, Giselle, Peter & the Wolf, Death and the maiden, Under the Eye, Fire Bird, Moment.
In addition, during her time at the VNOB, she performed in many other works: Chopiniana, Rite of Spring, Carmen, Maria de Buenos Aires, Around the world and national and international programs.
In 2017, a gold medal for “Rite Spring” at the International Dance Festival.
In 2019, a gold medal for participating in the opera “Red Leaves” at the Green path 9 Singing Festival.
Thu Hang was sent to tour in many different countries such as England, France, Russia, Praha, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Japan, Korea, India, China, Thailand …

 

 

Tran Thi Tuyet Mai

Pianist Tran Thi Tuyet Mai was born in 1974, graduated from the Hanoi Academy of Music. Since 1998, she has worked at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet with the main task of accompaniment for the ballet troupe of the theater. In addition, she also participated as a pianist with the symphony orchestra and chorus in other musical programs.

 

 

 

 

Dương Hồng Phi

Dancer Duong Hong Phi graduated from Military University of Arts and Culture and began working at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet in July 2019.
He once starred in “Peter and the Wolf”. In addition, he participated in the performance of “Memories of the river Lam” and this work has won a gold medal in the International Dance Festival.

PHAN MẠNH ĐỨC – Director

Artist Phan Manh Duc (stage name as Phan Duc) was born in 1972. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in vocal, Vietnam National Academy of Music and a master’s degree in cultural management from Hanoi University of Culture. He has worked at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet from 1997 up to now. Before being appointed as the Deputy Director, he was the leader of the Opera Group.

He has participated in many famous art works and programs as a soloist, such as the Vietnam-Laos Cultural Exchange Program, in Vientiane capital (2004), HX Vietnam – USA show, French Music Night (2005), “Orphe’e  et Eurydice”, playing Gugliemo in Opera “Cosi Fan Tutte”, belonged to the SIDA fund project, successfully touring in Vietnam and Sweden (2006), Flying Dutch (2007), Jak in “Night Opera” and Marcello in “Laboheme (2008), Mr. Nam in “Dreams and Realities” (2009), Black Bob in “The little Sweet”, “Walks Through the Valley” (2010), and the Story Teller in “Maria De Buenos Aires”, Old Man in “Miss Sao” (2014); Abe No Miushi in “Bamboo Princess” (2015), art program “Vietnamese Cultural Days” in Russian Federation (2016) ), Grand Father Pito, story teller in “Peter and the Worf” (2018, 2019) …. In addition, he has performed many roles in Opera excerpts, and many other concerts of VNOB.

Not only succeeding in the artist, he also works very effectively in other roles such as vocal instructors, assistant directors of Opera, MC, director …

He has awarded the Silver Medal at the National Professional Singing, Dance and Music Festival in 2015 for his role as Old Men Sinh in the opera “Miss Sao”. From Oct 10th, he was promoted Director of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

 

ĐỖ HOÀNG PHƯƠNG – Vice Director

Musician Do Hoang Phuong was born in 1980 in Bac Ninh. He graduated with a master’s degree in Economic Management from Vietnam National University. He moved to the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, working as Deputy Director from 2018.

Although majoring in Economic Management, musician Do Phuong like composing music. He has had many pieces that are highly appreciated by the public such as Remembering the homeland’s spring, Truong Chi, Street of oil lamp, The drunkenness and the life … During the COVID 19 pandemic in early 2020, he also composed a song called Wishes to support the medical team, the army who were fighting day and night to “the Corona invaders” on the front line of the country.

 

 

Emeritus Artist Trần Ly Ly – Director

Tran Ly Ly – Artistic Director, Dancer and Choreographer (1978) is one of the famous and key person in Vietnam Ballet and Contemporary Dance. After graduated in Queensland University of Technology, Australia in 2003, she worked as lecturer at Vietnam Dance College and Hochiminh City’s Dance College and became Vice Principal of Hochiminh City, Vietnam until 2018. Now, she is Director of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

When she was a dancer, she performed very successfully some works as by famous choreographers in Vietnam as well as abroad as “Saving friend” “Catching coconuts” “Primitive age “, “Paquita”- Greek dance choreographed by Maurice Bejart, “Hello” by Australian choreographer. “Under skin” and “Body armour” of French famous choreographer – Madam Regine Chopinot, “Venus in Hanoi” choreographed by Felix Ruckert from Germany… She attended many international dance and contemporary dances festivals in Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, France, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, German, Poland and recently in Japan and South Korea.She was awarded as the Best Young Talent in Vietnam.

As choreographer, she has made many successful works recognized by Vietnam and international arenas. Some works as “Mother “awarded  as silver medal, “One day” contemporary dance which was chosen to perform at European Day in Vietnam, presented by Germany President in 2007. “Dike” contemporary dance awarded as gold medal, “Living in the box” – a work which marked a respectation in Vietnam. After performing, many people confused the meaning of the piece and also the way of presenting in 2008. In 2012, she created “Zen” and “7X” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuVHFm89LpA). in 2014. In “7X”, she wanted to present a hinge generation between 60’s and 80’s which considered a attractive generation(https://youtu.be/nGpjdO0hLQc). In 2016, she made “the 2nd yes yes no no”, a context of LGBT through a Gay, expressing their espiration to be themselves (https://youtu.be/hyWoMwNzyWM).

She participated in many artistic workshops and seminars in Vietnam and abroad. Some other big choreography pieces are performed at present such as Ionah, Fishermen Show…

Being an artistic director, Emeritus Artist Tran Ly Ly has released many blockbuster works in both classical and modern arts. Some works such as Ballet Swan Lake (2019), all the tickets of 7 nights indoors and 1 night outdoors were sold out, Ballet Nut Cracker (2018), Opera Sculptor (2019), Red Leaves (2019), Maria de Buenos Aires (2018), … Art shows such as Rock Symphony (2020), Around the world (2019)… Contemporary  Dance Borelo and Suite en Blance (2018), The melody of Autumn …

In addition, she also works as an expert, art consultant, director, general director for many huge art performances in Vietnam such as the Vesak Festival 2019, Uncle Ho’s advice before passing away (2019) … Her powerful and passionate way of capturing and leading the problem has brought Vietnam academic arts closer and closer to the public.

Together with dancing, choreographing and directing, she also attends many shows as choreographers and artistic advisor to many big entertainment shows in Vietnam as “Vietnam brainpower” in continuous 3 years of 2005, 2006, 2007, “Doremi” contest for talented kids from 2006 up to now, “Fashion Show”, “Miss Vietnam in the World” ….

More than that, she has been also offered a judge in some contests as “Green Dance”, “So You Think You Can Dance“, “Perfect Dance” and “Passioned Dances”…

In 2019, Emeritus Artist Trần Ly Ly was elected by Forbes as TOP 50 most influential women in Vietnam.
