Emeritus Artist Tran Ly Ly, Director of VNOB attend the intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists meeting chaired by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc

On the afternoon of July 30, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met the intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists on the occasion of the 90th Anniversary of the Central propaganda and training commission (Aug 1st,1930 – Aug 1st 2020). Attending were Mr. Vo Van Thuong, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the the Committee, Head of the Commission; representative leaders of ministries, departments, agencies and central agencies, about 200 intellectuals, scientists, artists and artists, including Emeritus Artist Tran Ly Ly, Director of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet (VNOB).

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised the contributions made by intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists to national defence and development, and pledged favourable conditions for their development.
The PM made the remarks at a meeting in Hanoi on July 30 with 203 delegates representing more than 6.5 million intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists nationwide.He stressed that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, in every historical period, Vietnamese intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists have dedicated their work, talent and brainpower to the cause of national defence and construction.
The Government leader affirmed the policy of developing the contingent of intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists in both quantity and quality, noting that many mechanisms and policies have been issued to ensure the freedom to creativity.


According to him, the education and popularisation work is one of the three pillars of Party building, which is extremely important in building the national unity, thus bringing success for the country.
PM Phuc noted that the intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists should strive harder to meet the increasing demand of the cause of national industrialisation and modernisation in the context of international integration.


As the country is moving towards the 13th National Party Congress, the PM urged the intellectuals, scientists, writers and artists to make recommendations to the Party and State in the process of building and implementing policies for socio-economic development and improvement of the people’s spiritual and material life.
Delegates at the meeting presented proposals on building development strategies for the country’s spearhead scientific and technological sectors in the next 20 years and further. They also asked for incentives, including improvement to the working environment, to persuade overseas Vietnamese scholars and scientists to return to the homeland to work.

Hà Ngọc Thiện

Singer Ha Ngoc Thien is known by his stage name Duy Thien. Born in 1962, he graduated with a bachelor degree in Vocal at Vietnam National Academy of Music.
From 1985 to 1993, he was a soloist and took on the main roles of many operas, such as “Mount Fuji” (Japan), “Raven God and Stone Statue” (India), “Fox nine tailed” (Vietnam), “Fire of love on white sand” (Vietnam).

Since1997, Duy Thien has participated in all programs and operas of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

Nguyễn Thị Phương Thảo

Singer Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is known by her stage name Thao Nguyen. She was born in 1991 and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance at Vietnam National Academy of Music. From 2018 until now, she is a singer of Mezzo-Soprano and works at the Chorus of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

In her career, she has participated in several leading roles in famous Opera works, including: “Ah! que jai me les militaires “,”Symphony No. 9” of Beethoven … In addition, she also took the position of choir member in regular concerts of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

Lê Bình Luận

Singer Le Binh Luan was born on June 9, 1975, trained and graduated at the Vietnam National Academy of Music, majoring in Vocal. He is a singer at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet from 2003 until now. He has starred in “Dreams and Reality” in 2010, performing in operas such as “La boheme”, “Carmen” … and many other art programs.

Phạm Thanh Hà

Singer Pham Thanh Ha was born in 1979, graduated with a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance at Vietnam National Academy of Music. From 1997 until now, she has worked at the Chorus of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

During her career, she has participated in many concerts of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, notably the “Red Leaves” by Musician Do Hong Quan. In addition, she also invaded into the field of film and participated in the film “Loving Country” by Director Dang Nhat Minh.

 

Nguyễn Thu Hằng

Singer Nguyen Thu Hang was born in 1987 and graduated with a Master’s degree in Vocal at Vietnam National Academy of Music. From 2014 until now, she is a vocalist of soprano at the Chorus of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

In her music career, she has performed in many provinces of Vietnam. She has participated in programs serving people in remote areas and military units in Son La, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ninh, etc. In addition, she also took on a number of leading roles in operas such as Tham’s role in “Red Leaves”, solo excerpts in the musical “La Vie Parisienne”…

In addition, she has collaborated with the Vietnam National Music and Dance Theater and the Vietnam Contemporary Theatre.

She has also participated in the music video of “Hanoi in flying leaf season” performed by Emeritus Artist Vu Manh Dung, broadcasting on Hanoi television.

 

Nguyễn Thị Song Thủy

Singer Nguyen Thi Song Thuy was born in 1974 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Vocal at the Military Academy of Arts and Culture. From 1999 until now, she has worked at the Chorus of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

She has won many awards since she was a student. The first prize in the Lotus Village Singing Contest organized by the Nghe An Culture and Information Department. In 1997, she won the third prize of the Student Singing Contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Song Thuy has played secondary roles in many operas such as: “Carmen”, “Parzival”, “La Bohème”, “Miss Sao”, “Ly Cong Uan command to move the capital” … She regularly participates in the choir for all concert programs of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet; beside she also collaborates with the Vietnam National Academy of Music and Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra.

 

Nguyễn Thị Phương Dung

Singer Nguyen Thi Phuong Dung was born in 1980 and holds a bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. She has worked at the Chorus of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet since 2005.
In her career, she has participated in many leading roles in famous classical and contemporary operas, notably: Dorabella as Mozart’s “Cosi Fantutte”, An in contemporary musicals “Dreams and Reality”, portraying Juliet in “The Little Sweep”, and Mecedes in Bizet’s “Carmen”; Minh’s role in “Red Leaves” by composer Do Hong Quan, and Eng in “Miss Sao” by Musician Do Nhuan, … In addition, she also assumed the position of soloist and chorus member in all concerts and music programs of Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

 

Nguyễn Phi Hùng

Singer Nguyen Phi Hung was born in 1974. He graduated with a Bachelor degree in Vocal Performance Department at Military University of Culture and Arts. He has been working at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet since 1997.

Phi Hung has participated in leading roles such as Edmenrado in Opera “Carmen”, character Tomi in “The Little Sweep”. In addition, he also took on a number of secondary roles and participated in choir performances in all programs of the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet.

 

Đinh Khánh Cường

Singer Dinh Khanh Cuong was born in 1976. He graduated from the Vocal Performance Department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and Master of Music at the National University of Art Education.

He started studying and working at the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet since September 1997. In 2007, he officially joined the Chorus of the Vietnam Opera and Ballet.

Dinh Khanh Cuong has participated in many famous Vietnamese and international operas, including: Schaunard in “La Boheme”, Dancairo in “Carmen”, Alfred in “The Little Sweep”, No character in “Miss Sao”, Prime Minister Otomo No Dainagon in “Bamboo”, Chief of Detective Group in “Red Leaves”, …
