OVERVIEW
Ballet Giselle – A story of love and forgiveness. There may be no more powerful energy than love, and human selflessness is rooted in it as well. It can neutralize all grudges and hatreds. For love, we Live and Die. “Love is the greatest energy of the universe that God sent to us”.
Act 1
Ballet Giselle is a romantic story about pure love and betrayal; Count Albrecht’s deception and Giselle’s gullibility. Giselle was beautiful, graceful and loved to dance. Her beauty enchanted Albrecht.
On the day of the village’s wine festival, Albrecht, to flirt with Giselle, disguised himself as a farmer. Unaware of Albrecht’s noble background, Giselle was captivated by his enthusiasm and passion, unable to resist his flirtations. He gently made her believe in his promise of eternal love. His plans are thwarted when a hunting party arrives in the village. This includes the Duke of Courland and his beautiful daughter Bathilde, to whom Albrecht is engaged.
Giselle’s innocence caught Bathilde’s attention, leading to a gesture of goodwill where Bathilde gave her a necklace, unaware that they were engaged to the same man.
Hilarion, a deeply infatuated forester, discovered Albrecht’s disguise and, consumed by jealousy, revealed his true identity. Albrecht’s deception left Giselle heartbroken and desperate, longing for her life to come to an end.
Thus, Part 1 of the story ended tragically with Giselle’s untimely death
